September 2015 Monthly Minutes

The McKean Township Trustees met September 14, 2015 with Trustees Wintermute, Schwartzenberger, McInturff, and Fiscal Officer Ellas answering roll call.  After the pledge to the flag and noting there was no audience attending, chairman Schwartzenberger moved onto the reports for the evening.

Reports-The trustees reviewed their copies of the bank reconciliation, fund balances, purchases orders and blanket certificates.  Motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed to accept their reports.  Trustee McInturff reported she had received a photo map and letter concerning utility right of way on Phillips Road.  All trustees had received letters from the concerned residents on the road.  The trustees agreed to make their decision on the matter after Trustee McInturff contacts the Licking County Prosecutor.  The new culvert application was reviewed and agreed upon.

Old Business-The trustees reviewed the state grant application for monies to pave Corner Road.  Fiscal Officer Ellas had completed the proper paperwork and needed their signatures before turning in the application.  All Trustees signed the application.

New Business-The trustees reviewed the prior month’s minutes and signed all checks presented.  Motion to approve the minutes and checks made by Trustee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed.

McKean Township was in receipt of Schedule A & B from the county auditor’s office showing 2016 inside and outside levy monies to be received.  A resolution is needed by the trustees agreeing to the county budget commission.  The total of all levies including the three fire levies is $402,964.00. The fiscal officer noted that this is an estimate of what will be collected next year.  Motion for the resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor made by Trustee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed.

Roads were then discussed.  The portion of Dry Creek Road was chip/sealed after the county opened the bridge.  Trustee Schwartzenberger will contact the company that did the chip seal to discuss the billing.  Lundys Lane and Cat Run grinding was complete and Fiscal Officer Ellas will contact Murphy Tractor as to the billing of the machine rental.

After additional discussion about road conditions, motion to adjourn by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed.
