The McKean Township Trustees met in regular session March 13, 2017 with Trustees McInturff, Schwartzenberger, and Fiscal Officer Ellas answering roll call.  Trustee Wintermute called in sick.  Also attending was Road Supervisor and one resident.

After the pledge to the flag, the chairman opened the meeting to the audience.

Audience-Mr. Snodgrass was present to question the trustees on his recent appeal hearing to the zoning appeal board.  The board of trustees received a letter from his attorney, which they briefly read and explained they would have the County Prosecutor answer to it.  The trustees also explained they appoint the zoning appeal board members to handle all the appeals to our zoning resolution.  The trustees cannot change the zoning appeal board decisions.  Mr. Snodgrass thanked the trustees and stated he would get back with his attorney.

Reports-The trustees reviewed the bank reconciliation, fund balances, and purchase orders for the month.  Motion made by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed to accept as presented.

Road Supervisor-The truck part needed for the ford 550 is not available.  Trustee Schwartzenberger agreed to research the internet for the part.  As weather permits, we will start clearing the cemetery of all decorations for the spring.  After some discussion of Terry starting his third year as road supervisor, motion was made by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed for a 75 cent an hour increase.

New Business-The road mowing contract for 2017 was then reviewed.  After discussion as to when the mowing would be done and completed for the township, Trustee McInturff agreed to contact the company and discuss dates with them before we would sign the contract.  The road mileage certificate was then reviewed including all of the 25.895 mile of road in the township.  The trustees agreed to the state form and signed.

Driveways were then discussed on Philipps Rd.  Terry had contacted the county engineer office for their opinion before agreeing to placement.  After much discussion as to liability of driveway placement for lot splits or new homes in McKean, motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed to delegate to the County Engineer office location for appropriate line of sight of all new drives in McKean. After much discussion as to road conditions, motion to adjourn made by Trustee McInturff.
