The McKean Township Trustees met for the December 12, 2017 meeting with Trustees and Fiscal Officer answering roll call. Also present were the road men for the township. After the pledge to the flag and noting there was no audience attending for the evening, the chairman moved on to the reports for the month.
Reports-The Trustees reviewed the fund balances and noted they had one balance which needs to be corrected. Motion to accept the bank reconciliation, purchase orders and blanket certificates made by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed. The fiscal officer also noted the upcoming engineer meeting and county township association meeting.
Road Supervisor-Terry stated the 4-wheel drive was not working on the truck and would have it looked at immediately. We are to get more snow throughout the week and they will be hauling in more salt. Repair still needs to be completed on Lafayette Rd. Terry had contacted several places on getting the work done. Trustee Wintermute will contact Law Extreme Asphalt to check the bad spot and get it repaired.
New Business-Zoning violations were then discussed. Motion by Trustee McInturff, all agreed to contact the Sheriff Department asking for a deputy to escort the zoning inspector to the Davidson property in Highwater so pictures could be taken of all the violations. Lafayette and Chestnut Hills also have junk motor vehicle violations. Terry agreed to verify the addresses for the township.
Motion by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed to accept the minutes and approve the bills.
The appointment term of Brian Neely, serving on the zoning commission board and Dean Grubaugh, serving on the zoning appeal board are due to expire December 31. Motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agree to appoint Brian Neely for a five year term on the zoning commission board and Dean Grubaugh for a five year term on the zoning appeal board. As in the past, the trustees agreed to receive salary for the year 2018 by motion from Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed.
Discussion then turned to road conditions, weather conditions for this week, and the delivery date of the truck. Motion to adjourn the meeting by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed.
