The McKean Township Trustees met December 14, 2015 for their regular meeting with Trustees Wintermute, McInturff, Schwartzenberger, and Fiscal Officer Ellas answering roll call. After the pledge to the flag, chairman Schwartzenberger opened the meeting to the audience.
Audience-Bill and Lindsey Hoskinson stopped in to discuss the moving of the family ag business to their property. After some discussion with the trustees and zoning inspector, it was agreed it could be done. They were told if any additional buildings were to be constructed to please contact the township.
Reports-After review of all of their reports, motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed to accept the fund balances, bank reconciliation, purchase orders and blanket certificates as presented.
Road Supervisor-The Fiscal Officer and Trustee McInturff attended the County Engineer meeting. They announced that the OPWC grant application for paving Corner Road was accepted for 2016. The county also set up April 13 as their next informative meeting on roads. Terry reported they were currently ditching. Ditching still needs done on Riley, Liberty, and part of Lafayette. They also have done some cleaning up and filling in at the cemetery. Trustee McInturff discussed with the trustees and Terry about spreading salt during the winter months. At the Engineer’s meeting we were told salt without grits was a better use on the roads. It was reported that most of our equipment was ready for the winter months.
New Business-Motion by Trustee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed to accept the minutes presented and pay all of the bills. Zoning appointments were then discussed. Terms were ending for Dwight Zahrndt of the zoning commission and Mark Marston of the appeal board. Motion made by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed to appoint both for another term of 5 years. Motion by Trustee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed to set the trustee pay for 2016 as a monthly salary and to set our organizational meeting for 2016 for Monday, January 11. After discussion it was agreed to set the February meeting to February 16, 2016. Trustee Wintermute then announced to the board that he took his retirement effective December 31 so he could draw his retirement pay. After discussion, motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Schwartzenberger, all agreed to reappoint Jeff Wintermute as Trustee, effective January 1, 2016 to complete his remaining term of office. The Fiscal Officer then asked for a motion to move money in accounts within the gas fund to pay bills. Motion by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed for the following:
Gas Fund-$6,000.00 from small tool account to the salary account to complete payroll for the rest of the year. After discussion of the road conditions in the township, motion to adjourn by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed.
