Fredonia Cemetery
McKean Township has one working cemetery located on the east side of St. Rt. 661 south of Fredonia. This cemetery was first platted on March 17, 1881. In 2020, McKean Township Officials and employees completed a major refurbishment of the historic wrought iron fence including sand-blasting and coating of each panel, replacement of the broken metal posts with 4″ x 6″ treated lumber posts, new stone pillars with bronze plaques commemorating the 1881 platting of the cemetery. The Fredonia cemetery has available grave sites for sale. Please refer to the rules, regulations, and prices listed below.

FOUNDATIONS: Foundations shall be installed by Monument company. One (1) monument per grave site. Bronze Military plates are to be mounted on headstones only. NO FOOTSTONES. All caskets and cremations are to be in vaults.
DECORATIONS: All flowers, baskets, urns, vases, containers, etc. must be no further than 12" from the monument. No trees or shrubs are permitted. No glass containers of any type are permitted. Artificial grave decorations, floral or otherwise, are not permitted during the growing season (Approximately March 1 through October 15) with the exception of the following holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day. Decorations are to be removed two (2) weeks after the holiday. We reserve the right to remove any such decorations when not removed by the individuals placing them.
VEHICLES: Vehicles are to remain on the designated roadways only. Please do not park off the roadway.
HOURS: The Cemetery is open from dawn to dusk. After-dark entry is considered trespassing and subject to enforceable action.
THE CEMETARY DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEFT OR DAMAGE TO ANY ITEM PLACED ON BURIAL SPACES. NO TRESPASSING AFTER DARK.
