The McKean Township Trustees met as posted at 7pm on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 for the March meeting with Trustees McInturff, Schwartzenberger, Wintermute answering roll call. Due to illness, Fiscal Officer Ellas was unable to attend. The group was led in the pledge to the flag by Trustee McInturff. Audience – Bev Hansel Zoning – Zoning Inspector Larry Hansel reported the zoning appeals board had met earlier in the month and approved the variance request at 2567 Sportsman Club Rd for side yard set back to allow for an addition to the home. Larry also stated he was familiarizing himself with the Twp computer and would be creating electronic files in addition to the physical paper filing system. Reports – Trustees reviewed the Lawn Maintenance Contract for the 2021 season and unanimously accepted the proposal by T3’s mowing. They also passed and signed the financial resolution and documents provided by the Fiscal Officer for the new tractor and mower unit to be delivered by the end of the month. Road Supervisor – Terry announced the resignation of the part-time road assistant who has moved to Florida. He discussed the conditions of the roads. The bad winter weather has wreaked havoc on all roads both paved and gravel. He has been grading and patching as weather will allow. Terry is pursuing a replacement for the part-time road assistant and will update Trustees when a candidate is found. New Business – Trustees discussed the possibility of renovating the Twp building meeting room to provide separate office space for the computer, desk and filing cabinets. Trustees also discussed installing a property line fence at the township’s cemetery located across from the township building. Due to the illness of the Fiscal Officer, Trustees agreed to meet again with the Fiscal Officer present to review reports and pay the bills. That meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 6:30 pm. After much discussion about road conditions, motion to adjourn by Trustee McInturff, Seconded by Schwartzenberger, all agreed.
