  1. Call to order, Roll Call, and Pledge of Allegiance

Trustee McInturff called to order the regular meeting of the McKean Township at 6:59pm on Monday, March 9th.

The following members were present:

  1. Trustee McInturff, Trustee McLaughlin, Trustee Wintermute, Fiscal Officer Lindsey Hoskinson, Zoning Inspector Larry Hansel, Road Superintendent Chris Lantz, Roads Maintenance Assistant Travis Taylor, Cemetery Assistant Bev Hansel.

 Trustee McLaughlin moved to approve the February Minutes, Trustee McInturff seconded.

  1. Guest Attendance

 Vicki Baxter – Realtor

Asked for updates on Commercial Zoning.  Trustee McInturff stated that there is a re-zoning application of $600 and only the current property owner can apply.  Vicki wanted to clarify if this is per parcel or per owner.  Trustee McInturff said this is PER OWNER.

She also asked if there issues with the prior zoning.  Trustee McInturff shared that we have not updated this since 1975, that several changes made were not applicable, and language in Ohio Revised Code made some sections non-applicable.  In 2023, we conducted a Survey of Residents.  This with the Comprehensive plan review made us adjust our zoning.

Jeff and Kimberly Kling – Non-Resident Property Owner of 4578 Philipps Road

Jeff submitted a transcripted AI recorded conversation of our meeting and discussion held on February 9, 2025.  He also submitted a folder with official plat maps and records.  The reason they are here and attended this meeting is to share their concerns about their neighboring residents.  He also wanted to share that everything they are doing is to improve the farm.  He also submitted a list of actions neighbors are taking against him.  Trustee McInturff thanked them for working with this on a civil level.

 General Business

The Bank Reconciliation was provided and reviewed by the Trustees.  All Trustees signed and approved the reconciliation.

Bills and Checks were reviewed and signed for Approval.  Trustee McInturff approved and Trustee McLaughlin seconded.

  1. Township Roads Report – Chris

Chris gave his roads report.  He provided a detailed list of everything he has done since he started.

He provided a detailed list of material pulled from the stockpile and which road he applied material to.  He will provide a report monthly to the Fiscal Officer so she can track what we have spent on the roads per road.

He provided details on equipment repair and maintenance.  He will be working on creating maintenance records on all equipment and trucks that can be tracked annually.

  1. Zoning Report – Larry

Larry provided his Zoning report which included 1 permit.

  1. Cemetery Report – Bev Hansel

None.

  • Trustees Report –

Trustee McInturff submitted the official minutes from the special meeting held in February.

Trustee McInturff moved that we rescind our approval to accept the Zoning Commissions text amendment.  Trustee McLaughlin seconded.

  1. Fiscal Officer Report – Lindsey

Crossroads Planning resolution has been provided for signature.
