  1. Pledge of Allegiance

Dannette McInturff called to order the regular meeting of the McKean Township at 7:00pm on Monday, May 8th.

  1. Roll call and Guests Discussion

The following members were present:

  1. Trustee Jerry Schwartzenberger, Trustee Dannette McInturff, Trustee Jeff Wintermute, Fiscal Officer Lindsey Hoskinson, Zoning Inspector Larry Hansel, Assistant Bev Hansel, Maintenance Supervisor Bradd Bruce
  2. Not present: N/A

Guests:

Troy Hendren, Monroe Township Trustee – Reviewed the township Run Report YTD and had final Resolution to provide Fire and EMS services for our township signed by all trustees.  Copy retained for our files.

Fran and Dave Cantwell – asked for the results of the Comprehensive plan.  Jeff shared those results will be available in July.  Also asked about how Intel will affect Fredonia.  Asked about the McKean Township Facebook site.

  • Township Roads Report – Bradd

Bradd and Bill made mechanical changes to the drag which has improved the grading of roads.  Road grader with improved drag was driven on all unpaved gravel roads.  Riley Road was dragged twice.

Road Maintenance:

  • Mowing was done on part of the roads, delays due to weather.
  • Cold patch on roads not yet complete.
  • Waiting on a response from Smalls Sand and Gravel for chip and seal and paving on various roads.
  • Ditching not complete since last meeting.

We are still awaiting a response from Licking County Engineers for Riley Road and Lafayette Road engineering estimates.

Bradd asked for permission to purchase a plasma cutter; $600 cost.  The existing   plasma cutter will be sold to Larry Hansel for $300.  Jeff moved and Dannette          seconded.  Motion passed with Jerry abstaining from the vote.

Jeff moved to purchase the plasma cutter and Dannette seconded with Jerry           abstaining from the vote which passed.

  1. Zoning Report – Larry
    Larry attached his Zoning activity for the month of April through May 8. Attached with Minutes.

 Dannette asked that Larry file Public Notices in The Advocate and provided additional instructions on how to improve regulating zoning in our township.

Larry has been working on amending our zoning permit application.

 Cemetery Report – Bev

Bev purchased fireproof safes from Lowendicks for $700.

Provided some updates regarding headstones and the plaque received.

They continue to work on updating the records book.

 Fiscal Officer Report – Lindsey

April minutes were reviewed and approved.

Trustees and Fiscal Officer reviewed and approved prior months Receipts, Payments, and Fund Activity.  Also reviewed and approved paying all electronic bills and all checks presented.  Motion made by Dannette and seconded by Jerry.
