  1. Call to order, Roll Call, and Pledge of Allegiance

Trustee McInturff called to order the regular meeting of the McKean Township at 7:00pm on Monday, November 10th.

The following members were present:

  1. Trustee Jeff Wintermute, Trustee McInturff, Trustee Schwartzenberger, Fiscal Officer Lindsey Hoskinson, Zoning Inspector Larry Hansel, Road Superintendent Bradd Bruce, Cemetery Assistant Bev Hansel

October Minutes were Reviewed and Approved as Submitted.  Trustee Schwartzenberger moved to approve minutes and Trustee Wintermute seconded the motion.

Guests Attendance and Discussion –

Jim Bidigare, Zoning Commission

            The 2nd Draft is back from Crossroads Planning.  The team is meeting tomorrow night to review the details and move forward.  Trustee McInturff reached out to Atty. Pete Griggs for additional guidance.  Trustee McInturff will meet with Crossroads on Friday this week for additional detail for the Trustees information.

Eddie Pennington, visitor from Mary Ann Township

John Hower, Ohio Plan Risk Management

Reviewed the insurance policy and coverages that we will have for 2026.

Reviewed the changes we have in place for 2026.

  • Townships are Immune to damage to other vehicles or property if for example an auto is hit by a Township Truck. Their insurance will have to cover repair to their auto, but our insurance will cover repair to our Truck.
  • We need to provide the dimensions of the salt building to them and pay the invoice at the December meeting.

Jared McLaughlin, new Trustee for 2026

He will be sworn in on January 1.

  1. Township Roads Report – Bradd

Bradd reviewed road and other projects completed thus far.

  • Lafayette South has been ditched.
  • Plan to finish Mt. Herman, Hankinson Hill on the B side, and Philipps Road.
  • Plan to finish insulating the walls in the shop. It will be roughly $1,000 for material.  Bill and Bradd can provide the labor on their own and get this completed when they do not have road work to do.

The Truck should be done in 2 ½ weeks.  Bradd may run down on Friday.

  1. Zoning Report – Larry

Shared Zoning Activity up to November 10 to include permit requests and other questions from the month.

Larry shared questions regarding issues in the Township and the Trustees provided feedback on how to handle.  He has had some good discussion with other Zoning inspectors and has been working on improvement ideas.

  1. Cemetery Report – Bev Hansel

Nothing to report.

  • Fiscal Officer Report – Lindsey

Trustees and Fiscal Officer reviewed and approved prior months Receipts, Payments, and Fund Activity as well as the Bank Reconciliation.  Trustee Wintermute moved to approve all and Trustee Schwartzenberger seconded the motion.

Bills and Checks were reviewed and signed for Approval.  Trustee Schwartzenberger approved and Trustee McInturff seconded.

Lindsey still needs to research why we have funds in the Fire Fund.  It will be finished by the December meeting.

Lindsey shared the Auditor of State Bulletins #2025-012 and #2025-13.

  1. Trustees Report

Trustee Schwartzenberger had some points of clarification from the Ohio Revised Code to guide the Trustees in future.
